Hyatt Regency Rochester

First of all, Rochester is a laid-back town come up here expecting New York City vibes. Things are different and once you can accept different, you can accept that. They are doing their best. First of all front desk. Customer service was lovely. Especially the guy with the purple hair now I’m an African-American woman and I’m gonna tell you I didn’t care too much about the dark skin African-American woman that worked the during the day because she locked the door at 6 o’clock. I had to go downstairs to let in my door dash delivery. I stayed 30 hours for work comfortable. The shuttle the van drivers are some of the nicest guys you ever been. They could upgrade the pillow on the bed get the bed was clean and uncomfortable. I had no smells in my room. My door is locked. My cable works. Wi-Fi was slow yet overall for Rochester New York. The state was great. I wouldn’t use the vending machine because it charges you $10 for everything that you take out so even if you get one soda it’s $10.

Didn't get to stay here because they had run out of hotel block rooms when tried booking and even when I called they only had very expensive rooms available. Conference areas were nice but escalators were broken in the actual hotel but worked in the connected conference center.

My daughter has a cheer competition at the Event center so we stayed at the Hyatt Hotel. I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. We had a king bed room. The room itself was actually quite large with the bed and then a chaise lounge and table. The hotel and room was clean. The Hotel was very quiet and we had no disruptions. We ordered room service which was fast and was good. Staff was courteous and helpful. We never had to wait for an elevator. It was nice that it was attached to Event center. The price of hotel was reasonable. Was very happy with our stay!

Attended a conference next door and staying at the Hyatt was perfect for this. The garage parking (where I was) was so convenient, with the door being on the same level as check-in, and the conference center adjoins the hotel right at the parking garage as well. The room was nice. Especially loved the towels ha! Our group hung out in the bar area in the evening where there was one guy working and it took so long to get drinks, but not a huge deal–I’m not dinging the rating for that. I didn’t love the breakfast option in the morning, because I didn’t have time to sit down (and didn’t want to pay for the buffet) and the little cafe on the main floor was out of bagels, meaning there were only sugary sweet options left. When checking out, I asked about validating my parking because a sign in the garage said to bring your ticket in to do that- the woman at the desk said it’s only $5 cheaper if I do it here for you and it will take awhile, so up to you if you wanna do that… she obviously didn’t want to do it. It wasn’t a good impression for that last interaction of the stay. And yes, I did want the $5 cheaper option. It cost $12 to park-it’s not free… I guess it’s $17 regularly. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would stay there again.

I actually loved this hotel I was here with my grandmother last night and the best experience ever my grandma got helped up to the hotel room because she had a Walker so they helped her and they have great workers. I honestly didn't have any problems everything was clean and better then other hotels I've been to.

I needed assistance with an overcharge and items left behind at he hotel. It took 2 weeks to rectify the issue. Kayla saved the day. The Hyatt Regency is extremely lucky to have an employee like Kayla. Otherwise this hotel would get 1 star. So curious, kind, understanding and willing to help. Thank you Kayla. I wish all customer service agents were like you!

The location of the hotel is great and right in the middle of downtown Rochester. The hotel staff were cordial but not super helpful at check in. They did not explain parking until I asked very survivors questions about how it works, or how to get to our room, which we realized when we got on the closest elevator and realized it only went to the 4th floor. The hotel could use a deep cleaning. Our socks were black within 10 minutes of being in the hotel room. The beds are comfortable and very soft. It could be an issue for someone who needs more support in a mattress. Overall, I would likely stay here again for one night in a pinch if I came back to Rochester because the price point and location were good, but I would not stay here if I were coming for several days. I do have concerns about the cleanliness of this hotel.

The cart squeaky wheel on the service cart does need to get fixed bc you can’t fix the thin walls in this hotel. But overall not a bad experience and definitely not a 3 star hotel as the staff and restaurant employees make up for it.
